My practice has evolved from a deep connection with poetry to a complex dialogue between writing, drawing and sculpture. The line drawings that I’ve been developing since my youth (and so called biograms) became the main basis of my research after my postgraduate in Sao Paulo. I have explored the expression of the line as a biological, anthropological, and social phenomenon, using it to question and interpret the way we relate to the environments (umwelt) around us.
With this in mind I’ve been unfolding my art practice and expanded the analysis of the line to encompass the three-dimensional field at first and also grasp the notion of the transdimensional field as a theory. As I entered the digital world and the metaverse with my biograms, which were always born in two-dimensional drawing, it begins to exist in a new domain, assuming more of its aspect as a thread than its aspect as a trace. This transformation has allowed me to experiment and expand the concept of the line and the drawing in unprecedented ways for me, and I believe it may guide future trans-dimensional developments (union of digital and material) with very innovative approaches within the arts, and especially drawing and sculpture – not to mention its symbolic and / or calligraphic dimensions.
