My name is João Paulo Cavalcanti, and I am an artist and futurist who works at the intersection of cultural research, conceptual art, drawing and sculpture. My hybrid approach results in culture artifacts that seek to trigger external and internal experiences in the viewer / participant – individually and collectively. In most of my production, I use research processes and ready-mades as material to assemble compositions of signs, resulting in such artifacts.

Furthermore, I am interested in the line as an aesthetic, biological, and anthropological phenomenon (Tim Ingold, 2016). Through the lens of the line, my work and research also reimagine drawing, launching the line from the two-dimensional realm of the flat surface to the transdimentional space of the Field. This procedure generates three-dimensional forms through a generative dance, challenging the traditional boundaries between the disciplines of sculpture, drawing, performance and poetry.
